Reverend Harlon Matthew Heard is now entering his twenty-first year as Pastor of Smyrna Baptist Church. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Pastor Heard was called to preach God’s Word over thirty years ago. Pastor Heard served several years as Associate Minister at Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Arthur L. Powell.
Pastor Heard came to Smyrna with a sincere desire to administer the church according to the Word of God as he preach and teach his heart out in worship.
The first family of Smyrna Baptist Church, Barbara Heard our First Lady and Asela Heard daughter of Pastor and Sis Heard are truly committed to God and their purpose for being at Smyrna.
As Pastor Heard continue to feed us the “Good News”, we hope that all will come and share with us. The doors of Smyrna are open to you. As we witness God's mighty hand at work in the fulfillment of His vision, we know that He will be glorified ". . . for without me you can do nothing" (John 15:5)!
